The iconic folding metal Bistro tables and chairs of Paris, created at the end of the 19th Century, were a godsend for the terraces of the small cafes (bistros in French) that were flourishing everywhere at the time.

The new style of furniture, practical and quickly put away, was all the more successful with café owners in that it spared them the rent for a fixed terrace.

The success of this “articulated” furniture has inspired many engineers in search for resilience, practicality and comfort. Fermob, the leading French manufacturer of outdoor metal furniture, has developed its Bistro Collection from the original “Simplex” patent registered by a Mr. Edouard Leclerc in 1889.

The Bistro folding chairs with two slats on the backrest and five slats on the seat and the Bistro folding tables with their crossed bases are the authentic replicas of their illustrious predecessors, with the added advantages given modern technologies. Discover Bistro by Fermob, a unique collection developed from the authentic model from 1889, available in 24 colors, 4 versions of the chairs and 10 models of tables, all folding.
