The remarkable personality of Andrée Putman entered the history of design in 1979, when she decided to pay homage to the great tradition of decorators from the 1930s. In particular, she worked on re-releasing pieces by Eileen Gray and Mallet-Stevens, thereby bringing great names from the world of design back to the public arena. Very soon, her international reputation made her into the ambassador of “French” good taste.
His daughter, Olivia Putman, now head of the agency since 2007, drives the collaboration between Fermob and Andrée Putman; a collaboration which has given birth to Inside Out, a collection inspired by memories of old garden chairs that were in the Putman family home and the seats of which were composed of interwoven metal strips.
